About UAAT
The University Academic Alliance in Taiwan (UAAT), established by the Ministry of Education, brings together universities into a collaborative academic network with overseas hubs that support global talent exchange and mobility.
UAAT collaborates with leading universities and research institutions worldwide across diverse academic fields, including semiconductors, engineering, science, life sciences, agriculture, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. TMU's Role
As the convenor of the UAAT biomedical and health sciences, Taipei Medical University (TMU) plays a leading role in advancing international collaboration under the UAAT framework, with a particular focus on partnership development with its core international partner, the University of Texas System (UTS). TMU and UTS have maintained a long-standing collaborative relationship since 2006, which initially centered on talent exchange and academic visits and has gradually evolved into a comprehensive partnership encompassing research collaboration, academic exchange, and strategic project planning. With the launch of the UAAT project in 2023, this collaboration has further expanded in scale and scope, building upon a solid foundation developed over nearly two decades.
Under UAAT, Taipei Medical University (TMU) coordinates and supports collaborative initiatives in key health-related fields, including artificial intelligence in medicine, precision health, medical ethics, and medical device development, with a focus on advancing high-quality international research collaboration.
TMU also supports talent cultivation and academic exchange by hosting young scholars from international alliances such as KOOU, ICU, and TAMUS, strengthening cross-border collaboration in biomedicine, dentistry, and public health while fostering interdisciplinary and globally engaged academic talent.
